Last week on the parapet on page 24 I found an interesting article by Alessandro Raffa entitled "The Cinematography is the strongest weapon. " The article discusses the communication strategy used by the City Council of Volterra for the purpose of obtaining consent, in other words, some propaganda techniques used. Raffa highlights some important aspects of the problem and reveals a couple of episodes in my opinion, very serious. To underline that speaks for Raffa lived inside them, having taken part in a certain period to a small group dedicated to the statement that he had put at the service of part of the Civic Party. completely in the dark holding the remainder, however, for obvious reasons that will become clear during the reading easy. The two specific examples tell of two cases of deception by the press, the second of which concerns me personally. I say now, for the avoidance of doubt, that I can congratulate Alessandro Raffa for having the courage to distance of time, to reveal the strategy that drives a certain type aggressive communication and mystifying. The first example cites a letter to the paper designed to propaganda, or to support the positive image of tireless worker, a certain councilor. In the piece titled "Hands Off Pauline councilor with 16 friends (almost all fantasy) complained, with heartfelt pleas, its painful absence from their party, because of the extraordinary and relentless efforts for the benefit of City and for the good of Volterra.
In the second example, however, mention is made of how the same team shall endeavor to propaganda campaigns aimed deducted. According to what has been reported in the article, a precise segment of the United Civic Party to Volterra, including myself and my department in particular, must be constantly and deliberately targeted by letters to the parapet signed with pseudonyms or names and surnames from the local sound fancy but very more rarely as middleman. These letters, which of course would seem, written by ordinary citizens, or else by readers did not belong to a political force, but were prepared under the supervision of some kind of majority colleagues or their political advisors, and a pretext to criticize harshly the activities undertaken by those members of the executive to be sunk. One of the activities targeted, for example, the walking bus was opened under my Department and in collaboration with Sonia Guarneri, Councillor for Social Policies. But one could cite in my case the campaign for the pest control of mosquitoes or the Regulations for Renewable Energy (recently completed) and other edifying examples. From point out that these tests ineffable "affection" and collaboration between colleagues do not majority were built after years of close partnership and perhaps uncomfortable, but in the aftermath of the settlement of the new administration that is only after a few months. Apparently someone had not espoused the cause of the transversality of the list, but was only used as a means to reach it later a different attitude. This requires support in the local media a very specific part of the majority and harass the remaining part, formed by persons determined to be uncomfortable (often but not always due to the sensitivity of the left). I'd be lying if to suggest that the revelations of Alessandro Raffa I was surprised, because in time I had already collected a lot of clues and some evidence in this regard. Not to mention that the inveterate habit of the reader de Spalletta and close knowledge of some chickens, I have now taught clearly enough to decipher the origin of so many articles with a political background, even when they are hidden in disguise. In fact, alarmed by these signs, in at least two or three occasions I tried to tackle the problem with the mayor Buselli in an attempt to make him aware of the danger inherent in certain devices for the purpose of keeping his own administration. Evidently I was not convincing because it had any practical effect, except for an arched eyebrow and a faint shrug. Much more sensitive to the problem was revealed, however, the former Governing Council of the Civic List, consisting of the founders of the project. That group of people at least tried to address the issue during a couple of meetings with the junta, but inevitably was dismissed because of his independence of opinion . Of course I was not the only one to be subjected to this treatment "In regard" to the press by certain members of my own list soon also Professor Furlanis Fambrini architect, acting as advisors to the Culture and Urban Planning, now considered inconvenient for the autonomy established, became the subject of applicants and "nice" attention in the press from the pen of imaginary citizens easy and poisonous. Before they were thoroughly harassed by brutal attacks populist style in an attempt to weaken the resistance and possibly discredit them. Fambrini was subsequently removed from the Board for dismissal, while Furlanis resigned. I think many readers, even the most ignorant of politics, will wonder at this point if not totally insane such a strategy, for the extraordinary tension that is bound to cause within the same team. In fact, it is. Otherwise it would not be possible to destabilize and then break up in just 18 months a civic list returned from a sharp and unexpected election victory.
